The 2024 Work-Integrated Learning International conference will include a wide range of attendees and speakers. It is conveniently located in wonderful Te Whanganui a Tara – Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.
Attendees
A range of people from tertiary intuitions, workforce development groups, private training institutions and careers and education professionals – anyone with an interest in work-Integrated learning and/or related areas.
Speakers
Speakers may include academic teaching staff, researchers, professional staff including administration, management and careers professionals, industry professionals, students, and graduates.
Location
The conference will be held at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand at the CBD Pipitea campus. Wellington is a great place to visit and there is lots to do all within its central city location.

We look to welcome presenters from a range of Work-Integrated Learning areas. For those submitting a paper please read the conference proceedings requirements.

The conference programme includes keynote speakers, full presentations, panel discussions, good practice workshops, special interest groups and networking opportunities across two days.
- Monday 8th April – Pre-Conference Day. (Held at Rutherford House, Pipitea Campus, Victoria University of Wellington)
- 1pm – 3.30pm – Professional development research workshop. ‘Methodologies for WIL research: Ensuring quality research’.
- 1pm – 2pm – Work Integrated Learning Management System Workshop.
- 4pm – 5.30pm – Student Showcase and Introduction to Work-Integrated Learning, hosted by Victoria University of Wellington.
- Tuesday 9th April – Day 1 of conference (Held at Rutherford House, Pipitea Campus, Victoria University of Wellington)
- 8.15 – 8.45am – Conference registration
- 8.45am – Conference starts – Welcome
- Keynote 1 Colin Kennedy, Chief Innovation Officer from Creative HQ on ‘Transitional Innovation and WIL’
- 4.20pm – Day 1 of conference close
- 4.30pm – Tour of Datacom building (designed for the future of work)
- 6pm – Conference Dinner at Foxglove (Inc. in Conf tickets price)
- Wednesday 10th April – Day 2 of conference. (Held at Datacom and Rutherford House, Pipitea Campus, VUW)
- 8.30 – 9am Day 2 registration
- 9am – Day 2 of conference starts – WILNZ President update
- Keynote 2 Panel Discussion: WIL ‘Partners in Practice – Thriving Together’ chaired by Dr Karen Smith
- 1.15pm – Conference close and future events for WILNZ
- 1.30pm – Lunch and group meetings
- 2.45pm – Optional social activity: Marvel Exhibition, Tākina Events Centre OR Cable Car & Botanic Gardens visit
