Position: Research Officer and Project Manager – Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences

Katharine is currently Treasurer and has previously been Chair of WILNZ/NZACE. Her WIL research has involved co-authorship with colleagues from Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Her academic tertiary teaching experience includes development and management of work-integrated learning programs; supervision of students on work placement and teaching a range of business subjects. She has experience with the management and supervision of conjoint students studying and undertaking WIL in more than one field. She has been involved with the Global WIL professional development programme since its inception in 2016.

Katharine’s research often takes a multi-disciplinary approach. She completed a PhD with research focussed on community sport clubs, and not-for-profit community clubs continue to be a strong interest for her. Prior to working in academia, Katharine spent 15 years working in the market research industry in New Zealand and Great Britain and the food industry in New Zealand. This experience has greatly enhanced her work linking academic programs to industry engagement.
